1988 Mazda Rx7 10th anniversary one owner | Prep, Baseline, Sell

Mazda Rx7 FC ColoradoMazda Rx7 FC | Every now and then we get a call from a long term customer that we would rather not get.

The owner has recently passed away and the family was instructed to contact us to find a proper owner for this fine all original 10th anniversary turbo Mazda Rx7.

This car, with 66,xxx miles on it, well taken care of, always parked in a heated garage with timely maintenance and the right amount of redlines to keep the compression in its right zone is ready for a new owner.

How did we respond, of course we stepped into the role that the owner would have respected. We went down to Denver and met with the widow and offered up our empathy and willingness to help her fulfill the wishes for this fine Mazda Rx7.

All original and well kept, this car exemplifies what the true driving experience is all about. Bought new in 1988, the owner came to us on a regular basis with the last time was in 2023 to get a compression test and have us go over the car on the lift to make any recommendations.

The compression test came back well, with it having over 90 psi on all rotor faces. As with every customer, I recommend that they drive the car as it was intended, with proper warm up and cool down and do not be afraid to pull redline a few times to keep the carbon from building up.

Colorado Mazda Rotary shopNow that we have had the car one last time, we went over everything, replaced the battery, cleaned up the engine compartment and pulled all four wheels off, checking the braking system and all fluids. The next stop for this car is to head on down to Englewood to be steamed cleaned, polished and prepped for being offered for sale here in Denver at an exclusive dealership just for this type of automobile.

The pride of owning one of these is deep, we work hard to preserve them as well as we can. Only a true Mazda Rotary enthusiast will understand it and that is ok.

Rest in peace my friend, your car will soon be where it needs to be, in the hands of another fine owner who will enjoy the drive as much as you did.
